Warren Langley Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Warren Franklin Langley, Sr., age 70, of Dalewood Estates in Hodges, South Carolina. Surrounded by his loving family, he passed peacefully on October 15, 2025 at home. Warren was born on February 3, 1955 in Greenwood, South Carolina, to Nolan Gray and Mildred Sowell Langley.
Warren was a faithful member of South Main Baptist Church, where he was active in Sunday School and cherished his church community. He was a former Greenwood City Council member representing Ward 4 and a respected local businessman. For 25 years, he owned and operated Langley Automotive, LLC, and for 45 years, he proudly ran Crazy Worms Fireworks. Over the years, he also owned several well-known local establishments, including Quikies Convenience Store, Waterloo Food Store, Hyde Park Minit Mart, and Lil B's of Coronaca.
Of all his accomplishments, Warren considered his greatest success to be his salvation in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Beyond his professional life, he was a devoted husband to his wife, Jayn, and a loving father and grandfather-affectionately known as "Gradddaddy."
Warren's life was marked by integrity, resilience, and love. Whether he was telling a story beginning with "Let me tell you something," or lending a hand to someone in need, he was always a champion of the underdog. A lifelong University of South Carolina Gamecock fan, Warren and his wife traveled across the country for over 35 years to cheer on their team. Despite facing hardships early in life, including the loss of both parents at age five, Warren's strength, faith, and devotion to his family never wavered.
His adventurous spirit, quick wit, and boundless enthusiasm for life will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
Warren is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Jayn; his children, Frank (Jennifer) Langley of Greenwood, SC; the Reverend Chaplain (Major) Adam (Anna) Langley of Fort Bragg, NC; and Kelli (Quinn) Machain of Greenwood, SC. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Harper, Elle, Cooper, Gray, and Scarlet Langley of Fort Bragg, NC; Dylan Machain of Greenwood, SC; Cody Langley of Greenwood, SC; and Benji, Justin, and Jody Langley of Waterloo, SC; as well as his great-grandson, Nicklaus Langley of Greenwood, SC, and his brother, Thomas Nolan Langley of Greenwood, SC. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family would like to thank Dr. Suzanne Fanning and the staff of Prisma Cancer Center, as well as Dr. Nancy Wicker and the staff of Hospice of the Piedmont for their care during Warren's illness. They would also like to express their gratitude to Dr. Todd Gallman for his many years of care for Warren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at South Main Baptist Church, with Chaplain (Major) Adam Langley, Dr. Toby Frost, and Rev. Kyle Richter officiating.
A private burial will take place prior to the service at Oakbrook Memorial Park.
A reception will follow the service at the church where they will receive friends.
Blyth Funeral Home & Cremation Services is assisting the family.
