Warren Edward Lumsden

Warren Edward “Red” Lumsden, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend residing in Mason Lake – Grapeview, WA, passed away peacefully on Christmas Eve at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, WA.

Red was born January 13, 1940 in Great Falls, Montana. Red grew up in Montana where he met and married his school sweetheart Vivian Moir. Red first went to work for the local railroad and later enlisted in the United States Navy. Red was active duty in the US Navy for 10 years and continued to serve in the Reserves. Red and Vivian’s last duty station was in Bremerton, WA. They liked the Kitsap County area so much they decided to make it their permanent home to raise their three children. Red attended Olympic College in Bremerton majoring in business. Red started his first motorcycle business in 1968 and subsequently owned three Kitsap County motorcycle stores (Bremerton Cycle, Bremerton Yamaha and #1 Cycle). It was at that time in 1979 Red and his first wife of 40 years Vivian started their new construction business RV Associates, Inc. in Port Orchard, WA. RV Associates, Inc. remained in business for 46 successful years with continued operation by Red’s sons until its closure this year. Red was also the original owner and developer of the Port Orchard Industrial Park. Red’s first wife and partner Vivian sadly lost a battle with cancer in 1998. Red went onto meet his second love and wife, Karen Taft, marrying on October 16, 2004 and they relocated to Mason Lake, WA.

Red enjoyed several hobbies – most including engines – motorcycles of all kinds, Chevy Corvettes, boats, heavy equipment and his John Deere tractor. Red and his family were avid dirt bike racing enthusiasts and spent many years traveling and racing. Red was a long-time member of BCMC (Bremerton Cruisers Motorcycle Club). In later years Red enjoyed rebuilding old BSA motorcycles. Red was also known for his beef cattle he raised for many years in Port Orchard. But Red’s favorite past time was spending time with his family and friends, especially during his later years hosting at his Mason Lake property.

Red is survived by his wife Karen, sons Michael/Mick (Mona) and Robert (Liz), daughter Coni, stepdaughter Kim (Dean), stepson Robert, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, as well as his three brothers, Robert/Bob (Kathleen), Tom (Edna) and Pete (Carol) and sister Pat (Kenny). Red was predeceased by his first wife Vivian, his father W.E. Lumsden Sr. and stepmother Dorothy/Dot, his mother Larraine, brothers Ray and Dennis, and two grandchildren.

Red will be laid to rest at Sunset Lane Cemetery in Port Orchard, WA. A Celebration of Life will be held at McCormick Wood's Clubhouse, 5100 McCormick Woods Dr SW, Port Orchard WA 98367 Saturday February 28, 2026 from 1-3pm.
