Warren Vick Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Metropolitan Funeral Chapels, Inc. on Feb. 20, 2026.
Warren Vick Sr., affectionately known by everyone as "Mustafa," was born on January 24, 1960, in Buffalo, New York, to Delphine Horace and William Vick, both of whom preceded him in death. On February 13, 2026 he peacefully transitioned in Rochester, New York, surrounded by love.

He was also predeceased by his siblings Deborah Vicks, Linda Martin, Shirleen Johnson, Douglas Vick, and William "Billy" Vick. Left to cherish his memory is his 9 children - Felisa, Santana, Shantell, Sophia, Alexis, Warren Jr., Randy, Destiny, and Jamiel. Over 10 grandchildren. A wife, Rudina Vick, one brother Mikey Vick, 2 aunts, 2 uncles a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, extended family, and countless friends. Everyone he loved was special to him.

A man of many talents, he earned his college degree in culinary arts and worked as a professional chef, bringing joy to others through his food. He was also a master barber, cutting hair for nearly everyone in the family at some point in their lives. His hands were gifted-whether he was cooking, cutting hair, fixing computers, or helping someone in need. He was very thoughtful and prided himself with his family connections and knowing our history.

In Rochester, he was known as a true hustler in the most loving sense-resourceful, determined, and always finding a way. Many remember him as "the DVD man," selling movies all over the city with a smile and a story. He was also a certified security guard, a man who took pride in protecting and serving his community.

He loved fishing, music, and being surrounded by family. He ran NA meetings in his building and stayed active in his community until illness made it difficult. Even through life's challenges, he tried to be there for everyone. His heart was big, his presence unforgettable, and his love for his children and family was unwavering.

To know him was to love him. He was everyone's favorite uncle - not just an uncle by blood, but by spirit, humor, and heart. His legacy will live on in the stories, laughter, and love he shared so freely.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
