Warren Dean Weick was born on February 26, 1942 to George and Clara (Johnson) Weick in Parnell Township; he was 11th of 14 children.  Warren was baptized and confirmed at Siloah Lutheran Church in rural Graceville.  He attended school in Barry and Graceville and graduated from Graceville High School in 1960.

On September 15, 1962, Warren was united in marriage to Carol Minahan at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Beardsley, MN.  Prior to their marriage, Warren was baptized again into the Catholic Faith.  Warren and Carol were married for 46 years and were blessed with four children: Kevin, Wanda, Theresa, and Rebecca.

Early in Warren’s working years, he farmed beside his Dad and brothers.  He continued working for farmers in Lake Wilson, Green Valley, and Dumont, MN.  Warren drove the bulk truck for over 25 years at Carlson Oil Company.  He delivered bulk fuel to many homes in the area.  The past 10 years, while working at Larson Oil Company in Wheaton, he put the “full” in full service by making a gas station stop into an oil check, a clean windshield, and a friendly smile with each fill.  He returned to his love of farming after he retired in January of 2008.

Warren was very active in the community as a member of the Graceville Service Club, Graceville Sportsman’s Club and a 20 year retiree of the Graceville Fire Department.

One of Warren’s greatest passions was horses, especially his own horse, Skip.  He rode in many local parades and took pride in teaching his grandchildren how to ride and care for horses.  Warren enjoyed going on trail rides as a member of the Northern Raiders Saddle Club.  He was a true cowboy at heart.

Warren had a love of helping others, especially family, friends and neighbors.  He spent countless hours mowing lawns, removing snow and any task that needed an extra hand.  In his spare time he enjoyed coffee with the locals at Wheaton and Graceville.

On October 10, 2008, Warren was diagnosed with Metastatic Liver Cancer.  At the age of 66 years, Warren entered into his eternal life at his home on November 22, 2008.

Warren was very proud of his entire family and looked forward to the many occasions that brought them all together.   He  is survived by his wife, Carol; three daughters: Wanda (Doug) Andrews of Maple Grove, MN, Theresa (Doug) Diekmann of  Beardsley, MN, and Rebecca Schmidgall of Graceville, MN; grandchildren: Sarah (John) Ristvedt of Graceville, MN, Kasey, Kelsey, and Andrew Diekmann of Beardsley, MN, and Candace Simonson of Graceville, MN; brothers: Elis Schedin of Hoffman, MN, Wayne Weick of Graceville, MN, Howard (Carol) Weick of Whitney, TX, , Marvin (MaryAnn) Weick of Graceville, MN, Earnest (Joleen) Weick of Rochester, MN, and Doug Weick of Plano, TX; sisters: Lucille Lundquist of Wheaton, MN, Ruth (Bill) Nelson-Setzer of Hoffman, MN, Janice (Glen) Shepard of Clinton, MN, Donna (Norman) Snyder of Rosston, TX, and Shirley (Joe) Seifert of Graceville, MN; brother-in-law Richard Lundquist of Wheaton, MN; sister-in-law Bette Weick of Cold Spring, MN; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Warren is preceded in death by his parents, George and Clara; son, Kevin Weick; grandson, Colby Simonson; brother, Merle Weick; sister, Ilene Lundquist; brothers-in-law: Robert Lundquist and David Nelson; and sisters-in-law Midge Weick and Helen Schedin.
