Watson Hart Obituary

EASTON
Watson Hart, Jr. 89 of Easton, PA died Saturday, Nov. 23, 2024 at Moravian Hall Square. Born Feb. 22, 1935 in Easton, PA he was a son of the late Velma (Encke) James and Watson Hart, Sr. He graduated from Easton High School in 1953 and received an engineering degree from Penn State in 1957. Watson was employed by the Pfizer Co., then Mineral Technologies from 1966 until retiring in 2002. He also served as the engineer for Wilson Borough and volunteered his services for the construction of the Family YMCA and Sigal Museum.
He was a very active member of Palmer Moravian Church where he held leadership positions on both the local and denominational levels. Watson was a member of the Delta Chi Fraternity, Easton Kiwanis, American Society of Civil Engineers, Industrial Management Club, and the Easton Jaycees where he was a Past-President and State Director. He was also a Boy Scout leader and served on the Board of ProJeCt of Easton.
Watson is survived by his wife of 69 years, Babette (Zimmer) Hart; 3 children: Karen Murray (husband Roger) of Williams Twp., PA, Richard Hart of San Diego, CA, Andrew Hart (wife Elinor) of Campbell Hall, NY; 6 grandchildren; a great-grandson; half-sister: Mary Peterson; & half-brother: Charles James. A brother Edward Hart died earlier.
A Memorial Service will be held 11 AM Saturday in Palmer Moravian Church, 2901 John St., Easton. Interment is private in Easton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Palmer Moravian Church. Offer online condolences at www.AshtonFuneralHome.com.
