Wavey Penta Obituary
She was born April 28th, 1953, in Newfoundland, Canada, to the late Andrew E. Anthony and Matilda Florence Hoddnott.
Mrs. Penta loved all things Christmas, a love that was contagious with all who knew her. She was a master at shopping sales and had a great sense of humor. Though a long time resident of the United States, she always remained proud of being a Canadian. She will be fondly remembered for the amazing chocolate covered goodies she made every holiday season.
In addition to her parents, Wavey is preceded in death by her husband, Peter Penta; her siblings and in-laws, Vida and Albert Howell, Pearl and Harry Eveleigh, Olive and Doug Sheppard, Reg Anthony, Joseph Anthony, Frank Hartnett, and Fred Freake.
Mrs. Penta is survived by her daughter, Samantha Penta of Niskayuna, NY; son in-law, Teddy Wilson of Niskayuna, NY; sisters, Grace Freake and Ivy Harnett; sisters in-law, Rosemary Anthony and Ethel Anthony; and a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held 12 Noon Tuesday, October 15th, 2024, at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover, Delaware.
For those unable to attend the funeral service there will be a livestream on www.torbertfuneral.com, it can be found under the "Upcoming Livestreams" tab and viewed by clicking on their name.
The interment will be held at 2:00pm, after the service, at Delaware Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Bear, Delaware.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Alzheimer's Association and the Air Mobility Command Museum Foundation.
