Waylon Ray Hedrick, born on April 23, 1983, in Potosi, Missouri, passed away at the age of 40 on Wednesday, August 20, 2025. He was the son of Mary (Forrester) Hedrick Kean and the late Steven Hedrick. Waylon leaves behind a loving family who will remember him fondly.
Waylon is survived by his three sons: Aidan Portell, James Hedrick and Lexi, and Evritt Hedrick; his mother and step father, Mary and Roy Kean; three siblings who also cherish his memory: Steve Hedrick, Clive Hedrick (and his wife, Regina), and Nicole Kean (and her husband, Greg); his soon coming grandbaby; as well as his nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Waylon was preceded in death by his father, Steven Hedrick and his uncle Bill Goodson and many other dear relatives.
He was known for his interests in fixing and riding motorcycles, antiquing, and fishing. Waylon also enjoyed music, with the exception of rap. He loved mushroom hunting and was a talented artist, often drawing bikes, old cars, and sketching portraits of his family members. He was generous with his talents and shared them with those around him. Waylon will be missed by his family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 25, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by the Funeral Service at 1:00 PM, all taking place at DeClue Funeral Home, located at 301 E High Street, Potosi, MO 63664. Interment will follow at New Diggins Cemetery, Mineral Point, Missouri. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of DeClue Funeral Home.
