DELPHOS – Richard Urban Hedrick, age 97, of Delphos, passed away Thursday February 26, 2026 at Vancrest Nursing Home, Delphos.
He was born August 1, 1928 to Urban and Regina (Haunhorst) Hedrick who both preceded him in death. On September 15, 1951 he married Mary Louise Young who preceded him in death January 2, 1996. On September 18, 1998 he married Barbara O’Neil who preceded him in death August 8, 2001.
Dick is survived by a son, Michael (Margaret) Hedrick of Goodyear, AZ; daughters, Kathleen Smith of Springfield, Ohio Lisa Hedrick of Lima and Aimee (Terry) Bell of Santa Monica, CA; grandchildren, Eric (Anika Holland) Hedrick, Stacy (Mike Keller), and Scott (Kelly Kettering) Hedrick, Margaret and Daniel (Anne) Smith, and Max (Alessondra Morales) and Matt Bell.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, James Hedrick.
Dick graduated from St. John’s High School and attended the University of Detroit. He served in the United States Army. He retired from New Delphos Manufacturing Company after 32 years as vice president and national sales manager. For 23 years he was associated with Donald Mox as a real estate agent. Dick served on the Board of Directors of the Delphos Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 1362, Veterans of Foreign War Post 3035, Eagles Aerie 471. Dick enjoyed woodworking and fishing.
A memorial mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 6, 2026 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 5, 2026 at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos, where a Parish Wake Service will be held at 6:45 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the donor’s choice.
