Waylon Johnson, of Porter, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2024 at the Sanford Canby Medical Center at the age of 49.
Memorial services will be held Friday, December 20, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson with Pastor Kendall Stelter officiating.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church on Friday.

Waylon Jeremy Johnson was born on August 21, 1975, in Dawson, MN, to Art and Doreen (Verkinderen) Johnson. He was baptized and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson. After obtaining his high school diploma, Waylon attended the Brown Institute in the Twin Cities, where he earned a degree in computer technology.
Waylon married Kimmi Olson, and together they had two children, Lydia and Nathan. He had a love for the outdoors, spending his free time hunting, fishing, and golfing. Waylon was also a skilled bowler, earning several awards throughout his life. A passionate supporter of Minnesota sports, he was an avid fan of the Vikings, Twins, and Wild.
Waylon’s presence will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
Waylon is survived by his daughter, Lydia Johnson of Granite Falls; son, Nathan Johnson of Granite Falls; father, Art (Janet) Johnson of Dawson; mother, Doreen (Randy) Grussing of Dawson; sisters, Lynn Berg, Lisa (Joe) Brazil and Lesley (Bryan) Anderson; special friend, Bonnie Christianson; numerous nieces and nephews (who affectionately called him Uncle Bea), and extended family and friends.
