Wayne R. Aldenderfer, of Hazelwood, MO, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2024, at the age of 74. Beloved husband of Kathleen Aldenderfer; cherished son of the late Clarence E. and Lois Aldenderfer. Devoted father of Amy Aldenderfer, Christopher (Dana) Aldenderfer, Richard (Emily) Aldenderfer, Caroline (TJ) Yeargain, loving grandfather of Devin Aldenderfer, Jessica Aldenderfer, Samantha Aldenderfer, Lily Aldenderfer, Sophie Aldenderfer, Kai Yeargain, and Scarlett Yeargain; dear brother of Gary (Martha) Aldenderfer and Donald (Gail) Aldenderfer; Preceded in death by two brothers, Chuck (Kathy) Aldenderfer and Roger (Martha) Aldenderfer.
Wayne proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He was an avid gun collector and enjoyed target shooting with his children and grandchildren and reloading his ammunition. He loved camping, fly fishing, and everything related to a campfire.
Woodworking was another passion that fell by the wayside in recent years. He enjoyed the intricacies of home renovation with a particular fondness for historic homes. He had a knack for finding perfect hardware and handcrafting exceptional details.
The Girl Scouts will surely miss his love of a Tagalong cookie.
He indoctrinated his children in classic rock music from the 60s and 70s, by only playing those radio stations on any trip. He also had an extensive LP and iTunes account filled with those same songs.
Wayne is loved and his quick comebacks and the legendary tall tales will be missed. Does anyone remember Marvin, Squanto’s friend?
A Celebration of Life gathering will be scheduled at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Wayne's name to the American Heart Association.
