Gilbert “Gil” Eugene Elliott, of Bridgeton, MO, passed away Thursday, November 6, 2025, at the age of 88. Beloved husband of Marion Elliott; cherished son of the late Robert and Emma Elliott; devoted father of Lynne (Tony) Ives, Judy (Stan) Bevans, and Jim (Michelle Chapman) Elliott; loving grandfather of Mandi (Tore) Gianino, Alyssa (Keith) Broadway, Kyle (Justin Wintermute) Bevans, Chelsea (Andy) Krokstrom, and Stephanie (Chris) Ives; treasured great-grandfather of Clara Gianino, Luke Gianino, Eliza Broadway, Charlie Ives, Leah Krokstrom, Henry Ives, Owen Broadway, and Jack Krokstrom; dear brother of sister, Karen (Tom) Collins, and four siblings who also preceded him in death, sister, Kathleen Elliott, brothers, Robert (Mari survives) Elliott, and John (the late Norleen) Elliott. Gil also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends to cherish his memory.

Gil earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Washington University and a master’s degree in computer science from University of Missouri Rolla. He enjoyed a fulfilling career with Union Electric, now Ameren, retiring in 1998. After retiring, he volunteered at John Calvin Presbyterian Church, where he was a founding member. A true handyman, Gil had many hobbies, including stamp collecting and working with computers. During the beanie baby craze, he found joy in donating them to children with cancer. Gil also taught computer classes to elders seeking help and, alongside his wife Marion, taught Sunday school. He had a deep love for children and animals, especially his grandchildren and dogs. Gil cherished staying connected with former coworkers, often meeting them for lunch. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Gil's name to John Calvin Presbyterian Church.
