Wayne "Doc" Allen, age 97, of Dallas, Ga., passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2025. He was born July 29, 1928, in Tallapoosa, Ga., to the late Dave and Mattie Allen. He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Pauline Roberts Allen, as well as his brothers and sister: Louie Allen, Jack Allen, and Vivian Gable-Smith. He was also preceded in death by his Grandson, Wayne "Allen" Rakestraw.
Wayne was kind, loving, and so special to many. He loved to garden and spend time with family and friends. Prior to retirement, he dedicated 38 years of his career to Sewell Manufacturing, where he was known for his reliability and great work ethic. Wayne was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church. In addition, he served as a deacon of Steadman Baptist Church for many years and was also the church treasurer.
Wayne is survived by his daughter, Paulette A. Rakestraw (Carlton) of Dallas, GA. Grandson Wil Rakestraw (Ashley) and Brooke F. Rakestraw. Great Grandchildren: Ashton Rakestraw, Wade Rakestraw, Warner Rakestraw, and Kensley Rakestraw. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend whose kindness left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025, at 2:00 pm, at Clark Funeral Home, with Reverend George Barnett officiating.The service will be live streamed below of by clicking here: Live Stream Interment will follow in Paulding Memorial Gardens. Visitation will start at 12:00 PM on Friday, November 7, 2025. Wil Rakestraw, Wade Rakestraw, Warner Rakestraw, Tom Baxter, Terry Barnett, Clay Rakestraw, Vaughn Gable, and Tab Gable will serve as pallbearers. June Walker will be providing the eulogy, sharing reflections on Wayne's remarkable life and the many lives he touched.
