Wayne William Anderson

Wayne William Anderson passed away peacefully on the morning of September 15, 2025 at the age of 91 years. He was born in St Paul, Minnesota on May 17, 1934 to Garfield and Clara (Turnrose) Anderson. He spent most of his life on the north side of Minneapolis, graduating from Patrick Henry High School Class of 1952. After graduating, he attended the University of Minnesota for one year before enlisting in the United States Navy in Great Lakes, Illinois. When there, he met Kathleen Janet Hill of Kenosha, Wisconsin and they married there on February 22, 1958. Laura Jean arrived in 1962, Gordon Franklin in 1965 and Mark William in 1972. He was a 40+ year retiree from Minnegasco/Centerpoint Energy and a long- time member of Salem Lutheran Church in North Minneapolis where he was very active in singing and directing the choir, Sunday School teacher, State Fair Dining Hall volunteer and church council member. In retirement, he so enjoyed acting in community plays, singing with the ASI Swedish Mens Chorus and being Santa at Brookdale Center. He was a wonderful father, father- in- law and "Poppa" to his grand/great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Kathleen, his wife of 52 years and great grand son Aidan Matthew. Survived by daughter Laura (Keith) VonDeLinde, sons Gordon (Lynn) Anderson, Mark (Christine) Anderson, grandchildren Ryan (Whitney) VonDeLinde, Angela (Mark) Haroldson, Katelyn (Riley Breen) Anderson, William (Allison) Anderson, great grand boys Jordy VonDeLinde , Myles VonDeLinde, Brayden Haroldson and Vincent Haroldson and also many wonderful nieces and nephews. Services to be held Saturday, September 27th, 2025 at Salem Lutheran Church 4150 Dupont Ave No. Visitation at 10AM, Service at 11AM and lunch and fellowship following. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Salem Lutheran Church. A heart felt thank you to the staff at Willows Bend Senior Living especially his friend Chisa and to Grace Hospice for their loving care for our Dad. We love you Dad and miss you, and you will be in our hearts forever.
