Wayne Linwood Barefoot

 

Four Oaks, NC: Mr. Wayne Linwood Barefoot, age 75, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023 at UNC Rex Healthcare in Raleigh, NC, with his loving family by his side.  Funeral Services will be 11:00AM-Thursday, March 23, 2023 at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be Pastor David Sutphin. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery in Benson, NC.

Mr. Barefoot was born in Harnett County, NC to the late Hobert Linwood and Ora Lee Tart Barefoot. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Linda Medlin Barefoot; son, DeWayne Brantley Barefoot. Mr. Barefoot graduated from Meadow High School in 1967 and from Fayetteville Technical Community College in 1970. He was co-owner and operator of B & M Machine and Fabrication in Smithfield. Mr. Barefoot loved his granddaughter, Lexi, was an avid traveler, loved Surf City and Key West, and enjoyed motorcycles, flying, boating, telling jokes, and lived life to the fullest.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Gayle McMillon Barefoot; son, Russell Barefoot of Meadow; granddaughter, Lexi Barefoot; son, Thomas Wade McMillon and wife, Crystal of Wilmington; grandson, Ethan McMillon; sister, Sylvia Stafford and husband, Macon of Meadow; brother, H. Glenn Barefoot and wife, Wanda of Four Oaks; many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Rose & Graham Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM and other times at the home of Russell Barefoot.
