Wayne G. Bleininger

Wayne G. Bleininger, age 90, of Dundee, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2022, in his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born Nov. 25, 1932, in Stone Creek, he was a son of the late Ervin and Bessie Metzger Bleininger. Wayne attended school in Stone Creek, and went on to serve honorably with the United States Army during the Korean War. He married the former Zona Adkins on Jun. 23, 1952. The couple had three children and shared nearly 57 years of marriage prior to Zona's passing on May 1, 2009. Wayne enjoyed hard work, and was employed by Cummins Diesel in Strasburg for 30 years. He had excellent mechanical ability and could fix nearly anything at work or home - and Wayne was always willing to lend a hand when someone needed it. Foremost, he was a dedicated family man who especially loved his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Wayne was a member of the Dundee United Methodist Church.
He will be dearly missed by his children, Marilyn (Ervin) Sergeant and Elaine (Terry) Spidell, both of Strasburg, and his son, Frank (Lisa) Bleininger of Stone Creek; his grandchildren, Connie (Anthony) Garmany, Jeremy (Tracy) Bleininger, Ryan (Jessica) Bleininger, Kortney (Chad) Harmon and Vivian Goff-Pokladnik; his eleven great-grandchildren; his great-great-grandchildren; his sisters, Anna Mae Ribet, Betty Kaser and Donna Fox; his brothers, Lloyd and Richard Bleininger; and his nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, and his wife, Zona, Wayne was preceded in death by his great-granddaughter; his sister, Agnes Penrod and his brothers, Raymond, Robert and Glen Bleininger.
Family and friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, 140 S. Bodmer Ave., Strasburg, on Sunday, Dec. 18, 2 - 4 p.m. A funeral service will be held Monday, Dec. 19, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Strasburg's Grandview Union Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted. Following the committal, there will be a lunch in the hospitality room of the Strasburg funeral home.
