Wayne Bodenhamer, 86, of Trenton, GA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 28, 2025.
Born on June 21, 1938, in Trenton, Wayne was a lifelong resident of the community he loved. He was the youngest of 14 children born to Luther and Fannie Hicks Bodenhamer. A carpenter by trade, Wayne spent many years helping build and improve homes throughout the area. Known for his friendly nature and generous heart, he never met a stranger and was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need.
Wayne was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Norma Tinker Bodenhamer; his parents; and his thirteen siblings: Gaston, Tom, Roy, Junior, Robert, and Blanche Bodenhamer, Bessie McBryar, Pearl Stone, Florence Lynn, Pauline Stockman, Carrie Woods, Blonn Stewart, and Joyce Bethune.
He is survived by his children, Ray (Margaret) Bodenhamer and Ann (Michael) Murray; grandchildren, Matt (Hayley) Bodenhamer, Nick (Jessi) Bodenhamer, Crystal (Ken Boullion) Green, and Tiffany Murray; and great-grandchildren, Bella and Braxton Bodenhamer, and David, Sarah, and Hannah Pontier. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends who will remember him fondly.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM ET on Monday, June 2nd, at the Trenton Chapel of Moore Funeral Home, with Pastor Chris Hagler and Brother Benny Hatfield officiating. Wayne will be laid to rest at Poplar Springs Cemetery beside his loving wife.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 1st, from 1:00 to 5:00 PM ET and on Monday from 11:00 AM until the service hour at Moore Funeral Home.
Wayne will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
