Bobby Eugene Forester, age 91, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2026.
Bobby was born on November 14, 1934, in Rising Fawn, Georgia, to the late Cicero and Inez Black Forester. Bigger than life in both stature and spirit, Bobby grew into a strong young man who loved football and competition. He played the game he loved during his time in the United States Air Force and later at Chattanooga University and Carson-Newman College. His talent even earned him an invitation to the Washington Redskins training camp, but Bobby chose a different path, deciding to focus on building a career and providing for his future family.
After faithfully serving his country in the United States Air Force, Bobby attended college and began a long and successful career in the insurance industry. Though he worked hard, his greatest investment was always his family. To them, he was larger than life, their protector, their guide, and their hero.
Bobby was a devoted member of Pleasant Grove Methodist Church in Dalton. He loved the outdoors and treasured the adventures he shared with his family through hunting, fishing, camping, and flying. A licensed pilot, Bobby owned three airplanes over the years and found joy in the freedom of the open sky.
He was a loving and devoted husband, father, papaw, and great-grandfather who never missed an opportunity to spend time with those he loved most.
Bobby is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Julia “Judy” Pace Forester; daughter, Beth McCamy; sons, Bobby (Sarah) Forester, Scott (Regina) Forester, and Chris (Allison) Forester; grandchildren, Jeremy McCamy, Julia (Shawn) Jones, Amy (Blane) Bradford, Susan (Nick) Baker, Saskia (Alex) Barylak, Alex (Brittanni) Forester, Laney (Justin) Walston, and Leah (Brandon) Thomas; and great-grandchildren, Tristan, Asher, Lucas, Eli, Wyatt, Blakely, Silas, and Tatum.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Jane Wallin, and his brother, Jim “J.B.” Brannon.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Miller Cemetery in Rising Fawn, Georgia.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Moore Funeral Home in Trenton, GA.
