Wayne Lee Bridges Sr. passed peacefully at home on Wednesday September 4, 2024, at the age of 87. He was preceded in death by many relatives and friends, but is survived by many loved ones who will carry on his legacy and cherish his memory. Beloved father of Kathy (Mike) Wagner, Wayne (Shannon) Bridges Jr., the late Mike Bridges, and step daughter Jackie (Tony) Klotz; devoted grandpa of Caroline (Spencer), Grace, Braden, Brynlee, Bree, Mike (Kristen), and Jackson; and cherished great-grandpa of many.
Wayne Sr., known to his friends and family as "Wayno," was born on the cusp of the Autumn season in 1936 to parents the late George "Lee" and the late Iva, nee Garrison, Bridges. Wayne Sr. was a hardworking man, working from a young age and eventually made his career as a service manager in the automotive field. Wayne Sr. found community and brotherhood as a member of the Affton Elks Lodge # 2635 and as a Shriner of Masonic Craftsmen Lodge #717 AF & AM. Throughout his life, Wayne Sr. was known to be a "man's man," tough and stoic, but he is remembered for his sense of humor and loving, caring heart. He was an avid car lover and enjoyed spending time on the lake. Wayne Sr. loved animals, especially horses and his dogs. But most all, Wayne Sr. is remembered for the love he held for his family, and how he loved to watch his grandkids play and grow. He will be greatly missed.
Respectfully, there are no services for Wayne Lee Bridges Sr., but please consider, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations, which are appreciated to Shriners Children's Hospital or Humane Society of Missouri in his honor.
