Robert H. Quigley

Robert H. Quigley entered into eternal peace on April 17, 2025, at the age of 79 with his family at his side.

Beloved husband to Nancy (Neier) since 1967, and loving father to Tom (Liz) Quigley and Katie (Patrick) Guiett. He was a cherished grandfather to Zoe Quigley (18), Gavin (14) and Leah Guiett (12). Bob was adored by his many nieces and nephews who will miss their crazy, fun loving uncle. He was a devoted friend and his funny stories will be missed by many.

Born on November 24, 1945, Bob was the youngest of three to the late William “Ed” and Lydia (Kruse) Quigley. Together with his siblings Bill and Sally, he worked in the family flower business growing up, until they sold the company in the early 60’s. He attended Affton High School, where many recall him being a great friend, and graduated in 1963. From there he went to Missouri Valley College, where he was a member of the TKE fraternity and Alpha Phi Omega, and graduated as an accountant. Bob often laughed and smiled when thinking of his days at Mo Val and often questioned how he had made it through his adolescent years unscathed with all the crazy things he and his friends did!

He was then drafted, and went to fight the war in Nuremberg, Germany with a pencil, filing the payroll each month for all the soldiers. Before leaving for Germany, he married his love, Nancy Neier, who then joined him after she finished nursing school. They eventually came back, after Bob’s tour was over, and settled in a small house in Affton, where they had both grown up.

Bob then started his work career which included accounting, being a comptroller, customer service, and other positions for multiple places of business. What stands out most about Bob’s career are the relationships that he made. Bob has friends from every place of employment that he still has contact with today. Every encounter with a past co-worker was always met with admiration and joy.

After retiring, Bob spent his days in Oakville or at “the cabin,” with his wife, children, grandchildren, and good friends. Bob was always a hands-on kind of guy and while it was cars in his early years of life, it became wood working in his later years. Many Christmases were filled with Bob handing out a handmade present to each family on both sides.

Bob is known to all as a storyteller and a funny guy. His good natured attitude toward life and others made him someone that others enjoyed being in the presence of. Bob was often the life of the party; but, also someone that others looked up to. He was an incredible role model to many young men, while also someone to be depended on for countless others.

He will be deeply missed and always remembered. His family will hold a celebration of life at an Irish pub in his memory to commemorate the amazing 79 years that Bob lived his life.
