Wayne Crane Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sayland Funeral Home Inc - Maysville on May 23, 2025.
Wayne Rydell Crane - A Free Bird Wayne Rydell Crane, 62, soared from this world on April 21, 2025, at his home in Palo Alto, North Carolina. Born on November 11, 1962, Wayne lived life like the open road - with grease on his hands, the wind at his back, and love in his heart.
He was a lifelong mechanic - a man who could fix anything but never needed fixing himself. A respected soul in his trade, Wayne didn't just repair engines, he revived stories. Every car, every tool, every bolt told part of his song.
Wayne was a free spirit. Kind. Loving. Quiet in strength, loud in laughter. He lived for his family and held a soft, sacred place in his heart for his mother, Sandra, who now welcomes him home. He is survived by his father, Lawrence Crane, who taught him what steady meant.
He leaves behind his daughter, Mandesa Crane Gardner, her husband Donte' Gardner and his treasured granddaughter, Deziree' RoseMarie, the next verse in his melody. His siblings -Roxanne, Patty, Lisa, Sam and Kathleen - And his Step-Mom, Sandra carry his rhythm in their laughter and memories.
Wayne didn't walk through life - he cruised, carved, and coasted through it, with a grin under the hood and music in his soul. He didn't stay long, but he left deep tracks.
A time for Remembrance and Visitation will be held at Sayland Funeral Home in Maysville on Sunday, May 18, 2025 from 2:00–4:00 p.m.
If you knew Wayne, you knew the heart of a free bird - and now he flies where the sky has no limit, where wrenches shine like stars, and love never fades.
