Wayne E. Daniel, age 86, of Hackettstown died Saturday, July 26, 2025 at home. Wayne was born September 18, 1938 in Arkadelphia, AR to the late Morris E. and Edrie B. (Bell) Daniel. In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his son, Eric, a daughter, Julie and his brother, Hugh.

Wayne was born on a dairy farm in Arkansas, worked for the family business growing up, and later attended university graduating with a degree in engineering. He began his career working as a Navy contractor in the Caribbean tracking NASA rockets. Years later he moved to New York City, earned a master's degree in finance and went to work on Wall Street. Wayne was previously employed by Merrill Lynch as a quantitative analyst for many years before his retirement. Wayne was an avid Yankees fan, loved to fish, so he retired to Lake Tranquility before moving to House of the Good Shepherd in Hackettstown.

Wayne is survived by his loving wife: Joy A. (Weis) Daniel, his daughter, Jill and companion Jimmy, two sons, Jonathan and wife May, Barry and wife Terena, two sisters, Ruth, Pattie and husband Ben, sister-in-law, Jolie and companion Ken, six grandchildren, Olivia, Laura, Sydney, Faith, David and Olivia and several nieces and nephews.

A private graveside burial was held on July 29, 2025 at Washington Memorial Park in Paramus, NJ.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday September 28, 2025, 2pm at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Sussex County, 1 W Nelson St, Newton, NJ.
