Wayne Deter was born on December 23, 1944 in Hudson, Michigan, the son of the late Fred and Dorothy Reed Deter.
On September 14, 1968, he was united in marriage to Millie Franks, who survives.
Mr. Deter worked for Ripley Industries for over 30 years. Wayne had a good sense of humor and loved to laugh, tell jokes, and aggravate his sister-in-law. He also loved to dance and listen to music, especially to his favorite song, "Lillie's White Lies." Wayne had a kind heart and always found the good in everyone. His kids were his pride and joy and he loved them very much. Wayne was of the Baptist belief.
Wayne Deter departed this life on December 13, 2023 in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 78 years, 11 months, and 20 days.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Millie Deter of Adamsville, Tennessee; daughters, Nancy Hunsburger and her husband Frank of Niles, Michigan and Ann Deter Williams and her husband Charlie of Adamsville, Tennessee; brother, Chuck Deter of Michigan; sisters, Jean Durling of Michigan and Mary Double of Virginia; grandchildren, Misty Warner and Nathaniel Williams; and great grandchildren, Finley Warner.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
