Such a humble man full of so much love and wisdom! I will never forget how kindly he approached me after I spoke in the 6th ward for the very first time, asking me if I´d share my notes with him. He was the stake patriarch at the time, and had a lifetime more of study and experience than I had! And yet he was always seeking to learn and grow in his understanding of the Savior and His gospel, even from humble, weaker sources such as myself.
I will miss hearing his deep, gentle voice imparting words of wisdom in our Sunday School lessons, and our positive exchanges on the curbside of his home as he worked in his beautiful yard. In his own quiet, humble way he has left me, and all who came across his path, better for the time he spent here on earth.
All our love and prayers to you, Jan, during this difficult time of separation. Even amidst sorrowing, may we rejoice all the more in knowing that through our Savior Jesus Christ you will be reunited with your beloved husband again in the eternities.
Love,
Caitlin and Trevor DeMass and Family

You were quite patient with my family and me, even when I was an inactive member of the LDS church. I appreciated the fact that you never gave up on me. I shall always remember your kindness and patience. You are a true treasure and Heaven is more enriched, with your presence there... rest in peace, Bishop.

Hi Jan & Family - I was honored Wayne joined me his first cousin in co-authoring the family document we prepared on Alfred Cordon our common 3rd grandfather. The documentation he provided was very helpful. He was a great cousin and will be missed.

Jan and family,
Annette and I add our condolences at hearing if the passing of Wayne. I was just now informed by a long-time friend, Dave Richins, who served as our Supervising Elder in Harrisburg Pa. in 1960, when Wayne and I were young missionaries. With you at his side, Wayne has certainly touched thousands of lives since, including ours as we worked with you in assignments in Utah, California, and in Africa.
Our love, Mark and Annette Orton
