Wayne Edward Dreyer was blessed to be born to Richard and Margaret (Nadobny) Dreyer on February 16, 1957. He was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith, to which he held steadfast throughout life until his death on March 17, 2025 from pancreatic cancer.
Wayne attended school through 8th grade at Banner School in rural Sheridan County Nebraska. He then attended Rushville High School, graduating in May 1975. Following high school, Wayne chose his career as a farmer/rancher and part-time carpenter. He loved working with others and was very grateful for the help and guidance from all who helped him along the way.
Wayne met his wonderful bride, Penny Owen of Randalia, Iowa and the two married May 20, 1979. To this union were born six wonderful children: Angela, Robert, Krista, Melissa, Alicia and Rebecca. He was very proud of his children, their faithfulness, and strong work ethic.
Wayne could find a friend anywhere he went, visiting with everyone he met as though he had known them his whole life. He loved spring and watching the new calves play, studying his family history, taking the scenic route, playing cards and games, crossword puzzles, and spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren who will miss him dearly.
Wayne was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Carl and Emma (Knueppel) Dreyer, maternal grandparents Valentine and Mary (Bos) Nadobny, parents Richard and Margaret Dreyer, father and mother-in-law Robert and Lavera Owen, uncles and aunts Bill and Verna Nadobny, Delmer and Florence Hindman, Clarence and Doris Dreyer, Harold and Faye Dreyer, Ralph and Joyce Dreyer, Elmer and Delores Dreyer, infant sister Irene Dreyer, sister Eileen Riggs, brother-in-law Gary (Butch) Riggs, nephews Mike and Danny Dreyer, and infant grandson Sterling Igo.
