Wayne's journey through life was shared with his beloved wife of 67 years, Annette Easler. Wayne was a loving father to his daughters, Susan Skelton (Ted), Nancy Byars (Tommy), and Michelle Anderson, and his late son, Jimmy Halterman. He was a guiding light to his grandchildren, Milton Skelton (Kaitlin), Bryson Skelton, Gary Byars (Sarah), Olivia Byars, Preston Anderson (Yvonne), Logan Anderson, and Spencer Halterman, as well as his great-grandchildren, Wells and Sloane. Wayne is predeceased by his siblings Melrose White, Pat Godwin, Sandra Pendley, Roland Easler, Bernard Easler, and Gernard Easler, and is survived by his brother Jack Easler.
Professionally, Wayne was respected as a dedicated supervisor in the textile mill industry. He was also dedicated to his community, particularly through his involvement with Lenhardt Christian Fellowship. As a teacher at the church, Wayne touched many lives with his wisdom and unwavering faith.
Wayne's interests were a reflection of his vibrant personality. He found joy in watching wrestling, a pastime that brought excitement and entertainment into his life. Yet, it was his role as a teacher at his church that truly encapsulated his spirit of giving and guidance.
Wayne Melvin Easler lived a life rich in experiences and love. He will be remembered for his strong principles, his kind-hearted nature, and the profound impact he had on those around him.
Receiving of friends will begin at 2:00 PM, and a memorial service will follow, on Friday, December 5, at Lenhardt Christian Fellowship, 223 Lenhardt Rd, Easley, SC 29640.
