Wayne Albert Gelinas

Wayne A. Gelinas, 84, of Pensacola, Florida, passed away on September 26, 2025. He was born in 1940, in New Hampshire, but considered Maine his home.

Wayne built a lifelong career in the metals industry, beginning in sales with Edgecomb Steel and other companies across the Northeast before establishing his own business in metals brokering and fabrication. Beyond his professional success, Wayne pursued his passion for racing, driving short track cars at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Maine. He carried his love of motorsports throughout his life and was an avid NASCAR fan.

He also enjoyed Alabama football and had a deep appreciation for high school and college track and field. Above all, Wayne cherished his wife, Maxine, with whom he shared a love of traveling and cruising.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Maxine; his son, Randy Sargent; his brother, Gene; granddaughter, Sarah Nicholson; great-grandsons, Isaac Wayne and Daniel; and sister in-law, Cheryl. He was predeceased by his brothers, Bob and Dick; his daughter, Michelle; his son, Kevin; and his granddaughter, Danielle.

In accordance with his wishes, no funeral will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in his memory.
