Joseph Gelinas

HAVERHILL – Joseph Gelinas, 65, of Haverhill passed away on September 17, 2025 at the Boston Medical Center after battling a brief illness.

Born in Haverhill, he was the son of the late Phillip P. and Marie E. (Dawkins) Gelinas. He was a graduate of Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High school, Class of 1979, where he was enrolled in Auto Body Shop. Joseph was employed for many years at Vernon Plastics in Haverhill and also worked as a machine operator at other various companies.

Joseph loved playing hockey in his younger years and was an excellent ice skater. He also really enjoyed snowboarding, bicycling and motorcycle riding, and putting together models of vintage cars, trucks and hot rods.

Joseph was quite the handyman when it came to working on cars and would always help out friends and family with oil changes, replacing brakes and whatever else he could. He will be very missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his two sons John and his wife Stacey Gelinas and Paul Gelinas and his wife Melissa; he also leaves behind his grandchildren: Jaiden, Aubriella, Madison, Bradley, and Kinsley. He was predeceased by his parents Phillip P. and Marie E. (Dawkins) Gelinas and his sister Phillipa Gelinas Omeara.
