Dorothy Grace Volpe, age 93, passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2025. Born in Franklin Massachusetts, she was raised in East Weymouth, and graduated in 1950 from Weymouth High School.
Dorothy met her beloved husband, Joe, while working at Boston Gear Works in Quincy. They married in 1958, and settled in Weymouth Landing where they raised their family. Dorothy and Joe loved to travel, especially Hawaii, where they visited several times. Camping at Papoose Pond, Maine was another family favorite, where many memories were made. Dorothy accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at a young age and was a woman of faith. She loved music and was blessed with a beautiful voice, singing in the church choir, and often filling in as the church organist or pianist. She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Weymouth for many years, and later Community Baptist Church, also in Weymouth.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Joseph Volpe, and her parents Abbott and Grace Chadbourne. She is survived by her children Sandy Volpe and her partner Dom Perella of Milton, and Bob Volpe and his wife Susan of Florida. She is also survived by her grandchildren Nick and his wife Mackenzie, and Jonny and his wife Madison. She was blessed to have seven great-grandchildren: Leo, Marlie, Dawson, Silas, Georgia, Carter, and Dax.
