James Edward Morris, of Abington, formerly of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 31st, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Cincinnati on June 21st, 1949, to the late James F. Morris and Irene Helen Morris (Cowans).
Jim was a proud veteran, having served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Following his service, he joined Firefighters Union Local 1616, where he dedicated 33 years before his well-earned retirement.
He attended both The Ohio State University and the University of Cincinnati. Jim was known for his caring nature and devotion to family—always ready to lend a hand or give a ride to his grandkids. He enjoyed hunting, fishing with family, coin collecting, and was a proud member of the South Quincy Bocce Club.
Jim is survived by his wife, Camile Louise Morris, and his son, Jeffrey James Morris, and his wife, Barbara Rita Morris of Abington; his cherished grandchildren, Jocelyn Maricia, Nathan James, and Mackenzie Fay; and his siblings, Beverly Morris York and Bruce Morris. He is also survived by his in-laws, Diane Prewitt and her husband Ray; Beth Walkama and her husband Mark; Rick Massey and his wife Maria; Corrine Cox and her husband Mike; along with many nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by his brother David Morris.
Jim is now safe in Heaven with Old Nonnie Massey, whom he loved dearly. We know they are having a hot cup of coffee together and watching over our family.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to a visitation for Jim at the C.C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St., S. Weymouth from 4 to 7PM on Monday, November 10th.
