Mueller Funeral Home - MasonJoseph Craig Thibault, 18 of Fairfield Twp, passed away on November 1, 2025. Born to Neil and Holly (nee Van Fleet) Thibault on March 20, 2007, in Fairfield, Ohio.
Joey embodied happiness. His mission in life was to make people happy and to show kindness to all people. He was determined daily to make someone feel seen and heard. He smiled, laughed and had the sweetest spirit about him.
A passion for Christmas and the joy that surrounded that day is how Joey lived life. He loved the lights, the decorations and his Santa hats because that meant people were in the giving spirit and happy.
Joey was top of his class, highly intelligent yet humble. He desired to work with software and on computers after leaving college. He was in the top 15 of 800 students at Fairfield High School. Attending University of Cincinnati, he yearned to grow even more.
He was generous beyond measure. He gave to everyone he loved and to those he didn’t know. He was thoughtful, helpful and loving. Joey had a quirky side that drew people to him.
Joey enjoyed speaking about math and physics and sharing it with other people. If you were willing to listen, then he was willing to share all the facts with you.
A life cut too short, a spirit full of happiness and a humble heart that just wanted kindness to come out in everyone.
Preceded in death by his great grandparents, Olof and Edna Cupp, Ann and Bob Evans, grandpa, Craig Van Fleet and step grandpa, Bruce Koehn.
Joey is survived by his beloved parents, Neil and Holly Thibault, sister, Brooke Thibault, grandparents, Brenda Van Fleet, Nancy Koehn, Paul (Linda) Thibault, aunt and uncles, Dee (Kenny) Thornsburg, Rachel Braukman, Terri (Buzz) Childress, Michael Allard and Stephanie Handermann, great uncles, Joe (Yvette) Thibault and Bruce (Jeanie) Cupp, cousins, Lorissa (Kevin) Frazier and Brian (Jenalee) Thibault and many more loving family members.
In lieu of flowers, because Christmas was Joey's favorite time of year, we will be setting up a Giving Tree at the celebration. If you wish, please bring an ornament to hang on the tree in his memory — something that reminds you of the light and joy Joey shared.
A celebration of life will be held from 4:00-7:00pm with a service at 7:00pm on Monday, November 17th at Crossroads Church, 990 Reading Rd, Mason, OH 45040.
Private services will be held by the family with an interment in Rose Hill Cemetery, prior to the celebration of life.
