Brian Patrick Kelly, 31, from Boulder, Colorado, passed away peacefully in Nederland, Colorado, on November 2, 2025. His passing leaves an immense void in the lives of those who loved him.
Brian was born March 19, 1994, in Sylvania, Ohio. Brian attended Central Catholic High School, graduating in 2012. He went on to attend The Ohio State University and received a bachelor's in computer science engineering.
Brian loved spending time in the mountains backpacking, skiing, hiking, and trail running. He traveled widely and spent time surfing and scuba diving. He had a creative side including music, drawing, and photography. He went to countless shows and played guitar. He loved books and liked writing. Brian spent his career working on challenging problems in the computer science field and super computing. He enjoyed teaching computer science to others.
Brian is survived by his parents, James and Eileen (McNulty); brothers, Eamon (Kim Harvanek) and Brendan (Brittany Williams); grandmother, Kathleen McNulty; and niece, Scarlett; and nephew, Edgar. Brian had many aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends who loved him very much.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edward and Anita (Kelley) Kelly, and Patrick J. McNulty; and his uncle, Timothy McNulty.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Thursday, November 13, 2025, in the Kelly Room at The Most Blessed Sacrament, 2240 Castlewood Drive, Toledo, Ohio, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The family suggests donations to American Foundation for Suicide Prevention or IPWA- Indian Peaks Wilderness Alliance nonprofit preservation group if you wish to honor Brian's memory.

Dear Eileen and James,
I´m so deeply sorry for your loss. I´ll always remember meeting Brian in Ireland. We bonded the first night at the hotel over some Guinness, and I was struck by how creative, kind, and full of life he was. He had such a genuine way of making everyone around him feel at ease.
Please know my heart is with your family during this difficult time. I´m keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers from afar.
