Gail E. Cavanaugh (Cavanaugh), age 84 passed away on November 16, 2025. Gail was raised and educated in Springfield. PA. She earned her BA in teaching at Temple University in Drexel, PA. She worked for Kendall Corporation for over 15 years prior to attending Laboure Nursing School while working nights to pay for it. Being a natural caregiver, she worked at Neponset Nursing Home and Armenian Nursing Home for many years.

Gail volunteered her time often with various organizations such as Animal Shelters, Franklin Park Zoo, and multiple dog rescues. She was especially passionate about spreading awareness of pit bull bans in local communities. 

Gail was proud to have learned Gaelic at the Irish Cultural Center in Boston, where she spent much of her time and met countless friends. She also loved walks through Wampatuck State Park.

Gail is the loving mother of Joseph Cavanaugh and his fiancé Ashley Hill of Florida and Jason O'Sullivan and his wife Carrie Barnes of Hanson, grandmother of Amber, Finley, Calusa, Cailee, Charlotte, and Joshua, and great-grandmother to Solana. She is also the sister of Arthur Allen, Bill Cavanaugh, and the late Judith DeBarth and the aunt of Matthew and David DeBarth.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visitation for Gail on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 from 4-7 in the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth, MA. A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 7pm in the funeral home.
