Marion Egan, age 92, passed away on Monday, February 9, 2026. She was born in Boston on November 26, 1933 and graduated from high school in 1951. Marion married her husband, John Egan, and they started a family in Weymouth, where they made their home for many years.
Marion worked at the Farmers Market for many years prior to her employment with the Department of Elderly Affairs for the City of Boston. She later enjoyed working at Building 19 in Weymouth. Marion had an amazing sense of rhythm and loved ballroom dancing, often going out dancing in the early 1970s. Later in life, she moved back to Dorchester, as her heart always belonged to the city.
Marion was predeceased by her sons Paul Egan and David Egan. She is survived by her children Jack Egan Jr. and his wife Diane of Weymouth, Joey Egan and his wife Lynnmarie "Susie" of Weymouth, Marie Egan of Quincy, and Maureen Egan of Weymouth. She is also survived by several grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visitation for Marion on Friday, February 13, 2026 from 4–6 PM in the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth, MA. Relatives and friends will gather at the funeral home on Saturday morning at 9:45 AM for a funeral service beginning promptly at 10 AM. Burial will follow at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Weymouth.
