George Dennis Richardson, born March 4, 1951 in Orange, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2026. He was 74 years old at the time of his death. Dennis's life was marked by a deep commitment to family, country, and the pursuits he loved.
Throughout his years, Dennis exhibited a spirit of kindness and a willingness to lend a helping hand to those in need. A devoted friend and neighbor, he was known for his warm smile and ability to brighten any gathering with his genuine personality. A devout Harley Davidson enthusiast, Dennis revered the fact that he left this life with two motorcycles registered in his name, and that he always made the mistake of bringing his motorcycles to Trailer Week in Laconia, NH. A 38 year member of Pipefitters Local 537, his commitment to First Time Quality, solidarity, and the Power of the Union instilled a sense of pride and craftsmanship that will be felt among the Richardson family for generations to come.
Dennis cherished the time spent with his grandson, DJ, creating beautiful memories that will be cherished by all who knew him. An avid reader, he could regularly be found propped up in front of his fireplace, paperback in hand. His legacy of love and compassion will live on in the hearts of those he touched throughout his life.
Dennis's passing leaves a void that will be felt deeply by many, particularly among his family and friends. His memory will continue to inspire those who carry forward his values of kindness, patriotism, and generosity. Though he is no longer with us, the impact he made in the lives of others will endure.
Dennis is survived by his beloved wife Debra Richardson (nee Antle) of Scituate, his loving children Dennis Richardson of Scituate, and MMA1(SS) Robert Richardson, USN and his wife Taylor of Sub Base New London, CT and his cherished grandson Dennis "DJ" Richardson. He is also survived by sisters Ann Margaret Pfeffer and her husband Skip, of Canton and; Sandra Richardson, of Plymouth; and sister-in-law, Judy Richardson. He is predeceased by his father, LT A.J. Richardson USN (Ret.), and mother, Ann M. Richardson of Weymouth; and brother, Al Richardson, of Abington.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visiting hours for Dennis on Thursday, February 12, 2026 from 4-7pm in the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth, MA 02190. Dennis will be cremated following his service and will be laid to rest in the Bourne National Cemetery at a later date.
