Wayne Gossage Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hansen Family Funeral and Cremation Services - Green Bay on Dec. 17, 2025.
Wayne R. Gossage, 89, Allouez passed into the loving arms of his Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, December 13, 2025. Wayne was born on October 21, 1936 in Wausau, Wisconsin, the son of the now late Robert and Alice (Schiefelbein) Gossage. He was a graduate of Wausau High School with the class of 1954 and furthered his education at the extension campus of U.W. Madison in Wausau. Wayne was very athletic and excelled at playing hockey. On June 28, 1958, he married the former Gloria Ann Bennett at Zion Lutheran in Wausau. Wayne had a varied career in the paper Industry and retired from Bay West Paper as Director of Marketing and Sales. Wayne traveled extensively for his career, often times traveling out of town on Sundays and returning home on Thursday evenings, yet he still found time to attend Dance/Music recitals and coach Hockey, Football and Baseball for his children. He and Gloria had a tremendous faith and were very active in the churches they attended. Wayne ushered as a teenager to the time he was in his 70's. Wayne, at a young age, led the Walther League Youth Group in Wausau. Wayne also held the position of Elder at Faith Lutheran Church in Green Bay. Wayne and Gloria raised their 3 children, ensuring that they were confirmed Christians into the Lutheran Faith. Wayne loved the Fall of the year and always looked forward to the change of season and getting on his Cub Cadet riding lawnmower to tackle the leaves. He loved and cherished his family, but his greatest joy and pleasure was watching his 2 grandchildren grow and most recently seeing his 3 great-grandchildren come into this world.

Wayne is survived by his wife: Gloria: his three children: Patrick and Suzy Gossage, Kelley Gossage, John and Tina Gossage, 2 grandchildren: Nichole (Kyle) Pace, Tyler (Sara) Gossage 3 great-grandchildren: Eleanor, Wyatt and Macy, brother Don and Carol Gossage

He was preceded in death by parents Robert and Alice Gossage, great grandchild Charlotte Anne Pace, and a special dog, Maggie Mae, that wasn't his, but Kelley's, of which he loved and cared for while Kelley was working.

In accordance with Wayne's wishes a private family service will be held for the immediate family at his beloved church Faith Lutheran on Webster Avenue.
