A son of the late Joe P. Grafton, Sr. and Jewell Ivester Grafton, he was born January 20, 1958, in Stephens County, Georgia, where he had lived all his life. He owned and operated Wayne Grafton Construction and Remodeling. He was a member of Sunnyside Baptist Church, and the Willing Workers Sunday School Class. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, J.P. Grafton, Jr., Hal Grafton, Phil Grafton, Aubrey Grafton, Frances Capes, Mary Crunkleton, and Elizabeth Jarrett.
Survivors include his wife of the home, Karel Speckmann Grafton; daughters and son-in-law, Jessicah and Kelly Briley of Toccoa, and Jaime Grafton Jorschumb of Carnesville, Georgia; grandchildren, Jered and Julia Brown, Zoey Jorschumb, Zaydah Cleveland, Zayne Cleveland; great-grandchildren, Lucas and Jade Brown; brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Donna Grafton of Toccoa; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Michael Whitfield of Chattanooga, Tennessee; sisters-in-law, Florence Grafton and Lynn Grafton both of Toccoa; brother-in-law, C.W. Capes of Toccoa; a number of nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, May 31, 2025, 2:00 p.m. at Sunnyside Baptist Church with the Reverend Dr. Jesse Colbert, the Reverend Dr. Roy Rogers, and Ms. Monica Haralson officiating.
The family will receive friends at Sunnyside Baptist Church on Saturday, May 31, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.
