Wayne Wallace Hartley

Wayne Wallace Hartley, age 92 of Rochester Hills, passed away June 21, 2022. Loving husband of the Late Jeanne Sylvia Hartley, dear father of John Hartley, James Hartley and the late Paul Hartley, grandfather of Nicole, Olivia, Sean and Luke.
Born in Goldendale Washington, Wayne spent his younger days exploring the surrounding mountains and the Oregon coast and graduated with a bachelor's degree from the University of Washington where he was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity.
Wayne proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War and cherished his time in post-war Japan where he became immersed in Japanese culture.
After completing his education, Wayne joined the Overseas Division for General Motors in New York in 1956, later bringing his family to Michigan in 1978, and retiring after 37 years with the company.
Wayne was blessed to spend three decades in healthy retirement, where he organized his family genealogy, resumed sailing, shared many wonderful life memories with his sons and grandchildren, and enjoyed time at home with his loving wife, Jeanne, of 55 years.
