Wayne Ketner Obituary

Visit the Loudon Funeral Home & Cremation Inc. website to view the full obituary.

Wayne Mitchell Ketner, 63, a long-time resident of Loudon, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 21, 2026.

Wayne moved his family to Loudon 35 years ago to open his sign business, SignCrafters. He spent years designing signs for the city and surrounding areas continuing to do so until a few years ago. In the early 2000s, Wayne began his career with the City of Loudon by becoming a part-time Police Officer. After leaving the Loudon Police Department, he began working for Loudon Utilities Waste Water Treatment Facility, where he spent the last 20 years.

For those that knew Wayne, they knew him for his massively kind heart and easy-going, funny personality. Even on his sickest days, he tried to make everyone around him smile and laugh. He was also generous with his heart, loving everyone he met- which in turn caused many to love him dearly.

Wayne is survived by his loving wife, Angela Ketner; his two daughters, whom he thought the world of, Brandy Duckett (Paul) and Kayla Smallwood (Anthony); and his greatest joys in the world, his four grandbabies: Aerilyn, Elijah, Ava, and Eleanor. He is also survived by his siblings, Bill Geames (Bridget), Rebecca Shipley (James), Elizabeth Yvonne Ketner, Crystal Crowe, Noma Welch, and honorary sister Judy Dixon (Tim), along with many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John Ketner and Betty Geames; daughter, Megan Ketner; and sister, Debra Geames.

His wife and daughters would like to extend a special thank you to his nephew, Jamie Ketner, for all the support and love he has shown Wayne over the last couple of years. A special thank you also goes to all his many co-workers at Loudon Utilities, who were like family to him. The love, generosity, and friendship meant the world to him, and to us. Thank you for everything.

There will be a small procession to the graveside on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 2:00 PM, with a Celebration of Life to follow at a later date.
