In Loving Memory of Wayne Edwin Kolles
January 13, 1947 – October 5, 2025
Wayne Edwin Kolles 78, of Albertville MN passed away peacefully on October 5, 2025, surrounded by his loving children. He was born on January 13, 1947, in Elk River, MN to Lawrence & Lucille (Heuring) Kolles.
On February 10, 1968, Wayne Kolles and Mary Lou Lehn were united in holy matrimony at St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael, MN. Over the next 54 years, they remained inseparable, bound by a deep spiritual connection uniquely their own. Their love was steadfast and enduring, a true reflection of God's grace. Together, they were blessed with eight children-a gift that became the heart of Wayne's life and his greatest source of joy.
Wayne's work ethic was second to none. He began his career at Land O' Lakes creamery while still helping on the family farm, later becoming self-employed running a dairy service business installing and servicing Surge milking equipment. He was also a dedicated employee of Truss Manufacturing, South Side True Value and DJ's Ace Hardware. Above all, he was a devoted member of the Church of St. Albert, serving as cantor alongside his wife and pianist, Mary Lou, for 53 years.
God's plan for Wayne was woven with purpose and grace. He was called to lead with strength and compassion, nurturing both the Kolles family farm and the hearts of those around him. Through tireless work, unwavering respect, and humble service, Wayne lived as a true reflection of God's love. His parents rejoiced in the man he became-a man whose faith and character blossomed further in the family he built, continuing the legacy of devotion and integrity that God had set before him.
A handyman at heart, nothing ever seemed beyond the reach of a few screws and a roll of black electrical tape. He was the steady foundation for his eight children, yet his generosity reached far beyond his home. Whether lending a hand or sharing a smile, his presence was a blessing. Only a heart as big as his could touch so many and be loved so deeply. There was always time for a tractor ride on the Massey 44-especially when the wagon behind him was filled with laughter and the loved ones he cherished most.
With so much left undone, Wayne's gentle refrain echoes in our hearts: "Okay…that's enough now."
Wayne is survived by his loving children: Bonnie (Glenn) Kaiawe, Daniel (Lupita) Kolles, Cheryl (Wiley) Hester, Shawn (Jena) Kolles, Rachel (Rich) Kimmerle, Adam (Amy) Kolles, Jared (Natasha) Kolles; daughter-in-law Erin Kolles; 23 grandchildren: Braxton, Brandon, Savannah, Gabrielle, Sophia, Landon, Callan, Melanie, Vanessa, Jacinta, Amara, John Paul, Graceanne, Alexandra, Joe, Justin, Ian, Josh, Violet, Medora, Ruby, Elis, Treyson and two great-grandchildren, Evelyn and Jed; brothers and sisters: Joann Jeziorski, Larry (Darlene) Kolles, brother-in-law Laun Aiken, Steve (Diane) Kolles and Karla (Dave) Sherman; and a host of relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by wife Mary Lou Kolles, son Randy Kolles, grandchildren Ryan, Adam, Gianna and Lila, parents Lawrence & Lucille Kolles, brother-in-law Raymond Jeziorski, sisters Mary Aiken, Yvonne Illies and brother Keith Kolles.
