Wayne Eugene Kutzer, 69, passed away peacefully in his home near Tintah, MN, on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, surrounded by his wife and children. He had been under hospice care. Due to the upcoming weather on Thursday, Wayne Kutzer's Service has been rescheduled to Saturday, December 20th At 1 p.m. Visitation starting at 12 noon at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Campbell, MN.
Wayne was born to Helen and Eugene "Gene" Kutzer on May 22, 1956. He grew up attending Campbell-Tintah Public School in Campbell, MN and graduated in 1975. He studied Diesel Mechanics at Moorhead Technical College before returning to full-time farming. He was the fourth generation of Kutzers to farm the family operation, which was recognized as a Minnesota Century Farm in 2007.
He married Linda Kay Ista on July 13, 1991 at St. John's Catholic Church in Wahpeton, ND. They made their home on the Kutzer family farm, where they raised their son, Scott and daughter, Mackenzie.
After retiring, he kept plenty busy maintaining the farmstead and tinkering in his shop, always a meticulous steward of everything he owned and cherishing the extensive physical history of the farm left by generations before. He was active in his community and couldn't go anywhere without finding a friend to catch up with; many will remember his famous "Toodle-oo!"
Wayne will be greatly missed by his wife of 34 years, Linda; mother, Helen Kutzer; son, Scott (Lois) Vorachek; daughter, Mackenzie Kutzer; sister, Beverly Terhurne; sister, Lori Kutzer (Kim Gutzmer), and her son, Joe Harper; sister-in-law, Jane (Randy) Allenstein, and their children, James and Kelly; sister-in-law Annette (Laurel) Johnson, and their children, Nick, Nathan, and Cory; and many more family members and dear friends.
Preceded in his death by his grandparents, Florence and Herb Kutzer; Myrtle and Paul Lehman, Sr.; father, Eugene Kutzer; mother and father-in-law, DeAnn and Allen Ista; brothers-in-law Timothy Terhurne and Greg Ista; and several aunts and uncles.
In lieu of flowers, donations will be made to his favorite charities.
Wayne's family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the wonderful caregivers with HIA Hospice for their help and comfort during his last days.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton.
