Wayne Leroy, age 85, of Las Vegas, NV.
March 10, 1940 – October 17, 2025
Born on March 10, 1940, in Sharonville, Ohio. Wayne was the beloved son of Ruth and Carl Leroy. After high school Wayne went on to Miami University in Oxford, Ohio where he received his Bachelors. He then went on to Florida Technological University (University of Central Florida) where he received his Master's in Education. Wayne was the President of the Florida Vocational Association in the late '70's. Wayne then moved to Virginia to become the Executive Director of the Association of Physical Plant Administrators until his retirement in 1998.
Wayne married Bonnie Fouts on September 17, 1960, in Oxford, Ohio. They had two sons, Loren and Lanny. They later divorced in 1991.
Wayne moved to Las Vegas from Virginia in 1998. He spent the rest of his life with his second wife Nancy Pierce-Rogowski. The two of them where very involved in the Elks Lodge and Emblem Club and did a lot of traveling to see family and friends. Wayne was also involved in many community service groups. Some of those groups were, AARP, Salvation Army, Veterans programs, and with Daughter's of the American Revolution. One of the programs that Wayne really enjoyed was welcoming new citizens to the United States through the local Naturalization Program.
He is preceded in death by his parents Ruth and Carl, his oldest son Loren, his daughter-in-law Dana, and his wife Nancy Pierce-Rogowski. Wayne is survived by his younger brother Dave (Brenda), his youngest son Lanny (Stephanie), his grandchildren Steven (Ellen), Joshua, Timmy (Mackenzie), Sylvie, Bruno, Aniken and 6 great grandchildren. He also leaves behind nieces Vicki (Rich) Busby and Cindy DeVage, great-nieces Carson Busby, Jiana Busby, Madison (Corey) Brown, great-nephew Baker DeVage and 2 great- great nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the North Las Vegas Elks.
