Wayne R. Locke, 79, of Franklinton, NC, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at his home.
Wayne was born in Mount Kisco, NY on October 19, 1945 to the late Samuel and Dorothy Locke. When Wayne decided he was going to do something, he did it all the way and was successful in everything he did. He was a marathon runner who competed in the New York and Boston Marathons. He learned karate and earned a 4th degree black belt; he also loved scuba diving and was a top-level instructor. Not only did he excel in his personal life, but he also excelled in his professional career, becoming a top salesperson in the industry at his job.
Wayne was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He loved his family and enjoyed the memories they made together.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Corinne Short; and grandson, Ross Markey.
He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Lisa Locke; Daughter, Guenevere Matteson; sons, Wayne Locke Jr., Kenneth Locke; and grandchildren, Liz Markey, Kayla and Zachary Locke, Noah and Avalon Klepper, and Elizabeth and Morgan Matteson.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in honor of Wayne to the American Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.org.
