Wayne Melvin Maur, age 71, was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Melvin & Olga Maur. He passed away on March 29, 2025 in Medina, OH.
Wayne had many interests that he enjoyed sharing with family and friends, he was a hot-rod car enthusiast, attending and participating with his vehicles in local car shows, he also rebuilt his "dream truck" a 1959 GMC. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors gardening both vegetables and flowers, and feeding the birds in the yard. Wayne also loved his many dogs through the years. Wayne retired after many years of service as a Service Technician at Montrose Ford dealership, which allowed him more time to spend doing the things he loved.
Wayne leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife, Karen of 47 years, brother Phillip (Kathleen) Maur; brothers-in-law Jeffrey (Nancy) West, Larry (Debbi) West, and Kevin (Greta) West; sister-in-law Sandy West; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews; and his lifetime best friend John (Cindy) Ceaser
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother-in-law Gary West.
Wayne's good sense of humor and love of playing practical jokes on family and friends will be missed.
Family wishes to share their appreciation with the Cleveland Clinic Hospice for caring for him in his last days.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, April 26, 2025 from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM with a time of sharing at 3:00 PM in the Waite Funeral Home 765 N Court St., Medina, OH 44256.
In lieu of flowers family suggest donations in Wayne's memory to the Parkinson Foundation at www.parkinson.org or Cleveland Clinic Hospice.
