McGlinchey, Wayne Peter - age 67, Flushing, died August 1, 2024. Visitation will be held 3-8 PM Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, MI 48473. The family requests you to wear your favorite Detroit Tigers gear in honor of Papa Wayne. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family. Wayne was born January 20, 1957, in Flint, the son of Charles and Roselinde (Hagenbuch) McGlinchey. He retired from General Motors where he was a forklift operator. Wayne was an avid Detroit Tigers fan. He liked classic cars, especially his '87 Grand National. Wayne loved to be called Papa Wayne by his grandchildren and others. Surviving are: wife, Candace McGlinchey; three children, Erika (Nicholas) Grzesik, Timothy (Katie) McGlinchey, and Megan McGlinchey; two grandchildren, Michael and Noah Grzesik; four siblings, Carmel McGlinchey, Cecilia (Rob) Roiter, Chuck (Jackie) McGlinchey and Kathleen (Bill) Samida; many nieces and nephews; and his dogs, Bronx and Daisy. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Charles and Roselinde; and his brother, Patrick. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
