Wayne Miller

Wayne Miller, 71, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., passed on Friday, Aug. 22, 2025. Funeral services are 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, at Memorial M.B. Church, with burial in Pallbearers Cemetery, Monticello. Viewing-visitation is 4-6 p.m. Friday at Tillman of Monticello, (850) 997-5553. A native of Monticello, Wayne had lived in South Florida for well over 50 years. In Monticello, other than his mother, Clara Miller Parker, Wayne was groomed under the tutelage of his grandmother, Juanita Roberts, and great-grandmother, Clara Miller. He had been a self-employed building contractor, specializing in plastering. He was a member-trustee of Holy Tabernacle United Church of God. Wayne was a die-hard FAMU Rattler fan who loved Orange and Green. Cherishing precious memories are his longtime companion, Linda Cross; daughters, Shantelle and Michelle Miller, Lakeshia (Tavis) Jackson and Jerran Cross; sons, Jevon Glenn, Wayne Miller, Dwaynel Porter and Jerrett Cross; bonus daughters, Precious (Quentin) Houser and Andrea (Chad) Gregory; 20 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Renee (Benjamin) Gilliam and Melvina (Lois) Newkirk; brothers, Harvey and Anthony (Selena) Miller and Matthew Parker; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
