Wayne David Moss

MOSS, Wayne David – of Birch Run, age 92, died peacefully in his sleep during the early hours of Friday, December 26, 2025 after a joyful Christmas celebration with family.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, January 2, 2025 at Fellowship Baptist Church in Clio, Michigan. Pastor Darrell Manning officiating. Cremation to follow. The family will receive visitors on Friday, January 2, 2025 from 11:00 AM until the time of service at Fellowship Baptist Church. Memorial contributions can be made to the family for future designation.
Wayne was born September 17, 1933 in Flint, Michigan to the late Jesse and Leola (Betts) Moss. He grew up in Flint, Michigan and graduated from Northern High School with the class of 1951. He went to college at what is now Wesleyan University in Indiana and transferred to Owosso Bible College where he studied music. Alongside his brother Ron, he led revival services through his music.
On June 14, 1952 he married the love of his life, Carol (Andrews) Moss in Flint, Michigan. Proclaiming they fell in love when he was 12 and she was 10, their marriage was marked by deep affection and friendship. Together, they not only built a home and a family, but housed many children and adults in need over the years.
Prior to his retirement in the late 90's, Wayne worked for Professional Dental Supply Company as a Dental Supply Salesman with 33 years of service. He served as the Choir Director of North Flint Nazarene Church for more than 30 years, and most recently served on the music team for his church of 15 years, Fellowship Baptist Church. Wayne played Fast Pitch Softball, excelled as Catcher, and coached Clio Varsity Girls Fast Pitch Softball for several years.
Among his hobbies, he loved putting up Christmas lights at his home every year for everyone to see. It was his joy and passion to share Christ's forgiveness, love, and light with the world in the darkness of winter, which he did for more than 50 years. Wayne was honored to be voted the 2023 Birch Run Citizen of the Year in recognition of his impact on the community.
Surviving are: Wife of 73 years, Carol Moss; Children, Steven (Ruth) Moss, David (Beth) Moss; Grandchildren, Jacob (Janie) Moss, Arianna (Zack) Todero, Brianna Moss, Luke (Olivia) Moss, Noelle (Cody) Alvarado; Great-Grandchildren, Selah, Sawyer, Macie, Lydia, Reid, Elleon, Margo; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Parents; and Siblings, Naomi, Jesse, Marge, Phyllis Jean, George, Delbert, Patricia and Ronald.
