MARION - Wayne C. Orwig, 91, of Marion, Iowa, and formerly of Auburn, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Wayne was born on Nov. 25, 1933, in Auburn, to Guy W. and Wanda A. (Blech) Orwig.
After graduating from Auburn High School, Wayne earned a degree in Engineering from Tri-State College in Angola, Indiana.
He honorably served his country in the United States Army from March 1956 to December 1957.
Wayne married his first wife, Sue A. Platt, on March 4, 1956, and she preceded him in death in 1998.
He married his second wife, Jean M. Baker on June 17, 2006, and she resides in Marion, Iowa.
He worked for Lennox International as a sales engineer for 34 years, retiring in 1999.
He was a member of the Methodist Church and the Society of Automotive Engineers.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Orwig, of Marion, Iowa; daughters, Vicki Miller, of Powell, Ohio, and Sherri Kimball, of Upper Arlington, Ohio; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Bill Pick, of Palmyra, Missouri; three grandchildren, Kyle Kimball, Ashley Kimball and Madison Craft; several nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Sue Orwig; siblings, Victor Orwig, Ruth Richter, Eleanore Conrad, Robert Orwig and Troas Edwards; and two half-sisters, Eileen Simons and Leora Perkins.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, from 4-7 p.m., at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 875 S. Wayne St., in Waterloo.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 11 a.m., at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Pleasant Lake, Indiana.
Memorial donations may be given in memory of Wayne to Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 3401 S. Golden Lake Road, Pleasant Lake, Indiana.
