Wayne Edward Ottinger

Wayne was a wonderful, delightful and engaging man. He was our patient at the Robley Rex VAMC where he touched everyone with his amazing personality. I told him the last time I saw him " the world is a better place with you in it". He will be sorely missed. I hope he has found peace.

I remember his big smile and his obvious love of his family.

Wayne was always around during my middle school years. He was either bringing Zoe and I to or from school, volunteering at the school library, or doing something at the church. He always treated me like one of his own. The Ottingers were such vital people for me during this time of my life and Wayne will be missed dearly.

Wayne was such a big, burly gentle giant. My memories of him are of helping with VBS at Chapel Hill UMC. Always an encourager and strong supporter of his family and the church.
