Wayne Peressini, 70, passed away unexpectedly at his home this week. Born in Jersey City, he spent his early years in New Jersey before moving to the Catskill Mountains in 1990 with his growing family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Veronica Peressini; his four children, Nicole Arellano, Jessica Page, Matthew Peressini, and Cassidy Peressini; and his five grandchildren, Lorenzo Arellano, Nicholas Arellano, Alex Arellano, Ida Page, and Eleanor Page. He was predeceased by his parents, Joan and Richard Peressini, and his brother, Dean Peressini. He is also survived by his brother Keith Peressini and sister Carroll Zuchter. Following a career in the printing industry, Wayne dedicated himself to Pine Bush High School, where he worked diligently and became a valued member of the community. He had a deep love for the outdoors and found joy in landscaping, both at work and at home. Wayne took great pride in caring for his home, creating beautiful spaces that reflected his appreciation for nature.
Wayne was a proud parent and grandfather. He spent countless hours coaching his children and grandchildren in soccer, sharing his love of the game and his encouragement. Wayne was able to enjoy time with all his grandchildren, aged 3 to 22; he was proud to see his 3 grandsons grow up. In particular, it brought him immense joy to see Lorenzo and Nicholas enter the plumbing and electrical industry. He was loved and will be dearly missed by his two granddaughters, who he delighted with his imaginative bedtime, known as "Popop" stories. Wayne will be remembered for his kindness, his devotion to family, and his love of the outdoors. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Family & friends are invited to gather on Saturday, November 8 from 2:00 to 4:00pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro.
