Wayne Riesner Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Craig Funeral Home on Mar. 31, 2026.
In Loving Memory of Wayne Michael Riesner

With deep love and profound sadness, the family of Wayne Michael Riesner announces his peaceful passing at home, surrounded by his devoted wife on February 25th, 2026. Wayne and Marisela shared a beautiful bond, and to one another, they were always "Honey". To family and friends, he was known by many affectionate nicknames-Mr. Puzzle, Picasso, Poor Wayne (a playful nod to the fact that he had to "deal with his hot Latina wife"), and his most cherished title of all, PopPop.

Wayne is survived by his loving wife, Marisela Riesner of Maracaibo, Venezuela; his children, Michael W. Riesner, Mariana Pérez Riesner, Christopher Riesner, and his adopted daughter, Angélica Golliat. He leaves behind his beloved grandchildren-Ryan, Emma, Preston, Westley, and Noah-along with his brothers and sisters, all of whom will carry his memory forward with love.

Remembering Wayne

Wayne was a man with a big heart-one that touched everyone fortunate enough to know him. He was loved, admired, and respected by many. His joyful spirit was unmistakable; he carried a lightness with him that made even difficult days feel easier. His positivity was so genuine that even the medical staff who cared for him found joy in being around him.

He had a gift for making people feel at home. Wayne loved to make others laugh, and he never looked down on anyone. Gratitude came naturally to him-he was always thankful for every prayer, every gesture, and every person who stood by him.

Wayne will be laid to rest at the Jacksonville National Veterans Cemetery on April 10th at 11:30 AM.

Before he left this world, Wayne wanted to share one final message, a reflection of the love and hope he carried throughout his life:

"Love never dies, my loving life continues."

May his warmth, humor, and kindness continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
